This is my translation from the new Kehilla Community Synagogue machzor.
- David J. Cooper
Please, by the mighty strength of your strong hand, untie those who are
bound up.
Accept the joyous song of your people, lift us up, purify us, awesome One.
Mighty One, for those who seek your unity: guard them as one would the pupil
of the eye.
Bless them, purify them, mercy them, with your justice ever reward them.
Powerful holy One, with your massive goodness, lead your congregation.
Singular exalted One, turn toward your people, those mindful of your
holiness.
Hearken to our outcry, listen to our wails, you who should know all secrets.
And blessed be the glorious presence of divine sovereignty for ever and
ever.
[Translation by Rabbi David J. Cooper]
Ana B'koakh/Source of Mercy
Source of Mercy!
With loving strength
Untie our tangles.
Your chanting folk
Raise high, make pure.
Accept our song.
Like your own eye
Lord keep us safe
Who union seek.
Cleanse and bless us
Infuse us ever
With loving care.
Gracious source
Of holy power!
Do guide your folk.
Sublime and Holy One,
Do turn to us
Of holy chant.
Receive our prayer,
Do hear our cry
Who secrets knows.
Through time and space
Your glory shines
Our blessed One
Barukh Shem
Kevod Malkhuto
L'olam Va'ed.
