Wednesday, Sept. 23 we met at Cyndi's space at the Wellness Center of Church Street. Four of us had a lively conversation .
Alex shared his Rosh Hashanah experience at the Kabbalah Centre in NYC with 300 people attending. Pre-Covid there are usually about 1800 attendees. There was a strong focus on seeing the light in ourselves at this meeting. The world will reflect our light back to us and there will be synchronicities. Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the world so you could say seeing the light in ourselves enables us to renew the world. Perhaps if things are concerning us such as political elections we can bless all elections with our light.
Return again, return again, return to the Land of your Soul. Return to who you are, return to what you are, return to where you are born and reborn again -- Lyrics by Shlomo Carlebach
Alex described a powerful meditation led by Michael Berg, the Kabbalah Centre director, that felt like casting off the tiles of negativity that may be holding back the light that shines through each of us.
On the tree of life, we move from expansion to contraction. Annette said we zoom in and zoom out. With our Covid masks on we are zoomed in. Zooming out is a natural follow-up whether web conferencing on Zoom or not:) Balance is created as we move on the tree of life from Chesed (the flow of all energy) to Gevurah (the form for receiving) to Tiferet (balance).
Cyndi said there are trees of life in different traditions such as the Vedic tradition. This could be something to investigate individually or as a group. Kabbalah seems, to me, to express something fundamental about nature/life. Cyndi also brought up how connecting to this energy can help us connect as individuals to wellness, rather than trying to grasp wellness as something outside that will fix what we perceive to be problems. She also brought up the angel Metatron also know as Michael in Kabbalah. I would like to know more about this legendary guy.
I am feeling grateful that the four us were able to meet at the Wellness Center during this fall equinox, Rosh Hashanah (literally the head of the year) time of rebirth and renewal.
"Change your heart, look around you
Change your heart, will astound you"
-- from the song by James Warren, Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime.
Our next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 5 either at The Wellness Center or at my house.
