Kabbalah Group comments are in blue. Eiatan's Class 2, Lesson 3 notes and are in black.
Che said Dr. Wayne Dyer's definition of EGO is Edging God Out. She then created the new memorable acronym EGI meaning Edging God In.
The class was really about how to let God in. First become conscious of when we feel lack. I don't find this difficult to do because it comes up all the time. However, if I pause every time I fee worthless, impatient or hurt (see below for more types of lack) I can then chose between remedying the problem with EGO (Edging God Out) or EGI (Edging God In). Thank you Che!
Types of Lack: Fear, insecurity, impatient, empty, worthless, hurt, insecure, hopeless, helpless, out of control, abandoned, lonely, insignificant, boredom, confusion, sadness, shame, guilt.
When we feel any form of lack, we either feed the Light, or we feed our ego.
5 ROOT EGOS
· Judgment ("There is a constant voice in my head that provides a play-by-play of my lack of acceptance of others and situations.")
· Anger (Wanting things to be different; feeling we deserve a different reality, or that things should or shouldn’t be a certain way.)
· Control ("I'm afraid of something not happening or going my way")
· Physical Lust (Instant physical gratification)
· Seeking Validation/Approval/Respect
Eitan brought up a Cherokee legend that I found online. Here is the text:
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”https://www.virtuesforlife.com/two-wolves/
Does feeding the good wolf allow love into our lives? Could we celebrate every time we feel lack and choose the intention of going towards light rather than the temporary EGO remedy that edges God out or brings us away from the light. EGO or EGI?
Cyndi brought up how astrology has helped with understanding the chakras. The study of astrology and reincarnation is also part of studying Kabbalah and the Tree of Life. There may be a lot of commonalities in mysticism or channeling the light. Spiritual giants who seem more capable than us may simply be more capable than our fragile egos. What would it be like to think of ourselves as a spiritual giant.
Annette said it would be fun to draw a SPIRITUAL GIANT. If anyone would like to do this, you could bring your drawing (or other creation) to our next IN PERSON NOT ON ZOOM meeting on Monday, July 5th.
