The Pause Olympics

You don't know what will shine through when you pause and embrace with love.

After thinking about the challenging statement: "Do not speak to someone with whom you are upset until you stop feeling the pain," training for the Pause Olympics came to my mind. For example, yesterday at City Market I was lucky enough to pause for a new cashier who did not understand produce code numbers or kombucha growler refills. Several staff members came over to help him at various times while I watched at least five people zip through the line next to me. Today I paused while watching my husband eat a late oversized burrito lunch when I already had my dinner making plan in place. I wanted to control his behavior very badly, but held back long enough to realize that fighting over a late afternoon burrito was not a battle I wanted to choose. The results are in. The slow cashier was a nice person and Paul and I ended up joking about something rather than locking ourselves in an irritable conversation. Now I'm wondering how life would change if I resisted rushing and trying to control others.

The meaning of intention: Could this simply mean holding someone in your heart whenever you are channeling joy?

Annette brought us all a great deal of joy with the news of her new granddaughter. Blessings abound!

Sami, what is the name of the mushroom jerky company? Those mushrooms were packed with umami!

Possible date for our next meeting: Monday, Oct. 24, 6-8:30. Let me know if this date works for you all.
